On June 5th, 2013, the US Postal Service will release a Forever stamp featuring Johnny Cash. There will even be a free event at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee to commemorate it which I would surely go to if I happened to be in the area.

The image on the stamp is from a photo taken by Frank Bez during the photo session for Ring of Fire: The Best of Johnny Cash in 1963.

I love these quotes about the stamp from his kids:

This was my second tattoo, which I got just about a year ago. It’s the character No-face from the children’s anime film Spirited Away, one of my favorite movies. Done by Anne at Peek-A-Boo Tattoo in Portland, Maine. I love them! They’re awesome people and very talented artists.
